This book does an amazing job at explaining the anatomy of the voice and how to care for it. It even includes a fantastic assessment and exercises to figure out what you can do to improve your singing. It also includes popular song examples for you to use in teaching yourself to sing.
I didn't know at the time, but I thought I could actually teach myself to sing so I bought this book. Maybe if you play the piano or you are very talented, that is possible, but nothing beats taking lessons. In stuff such as acting, dancing, or singing, it is very difficult to learn by reading. These things are usually learn by doing since they all involve movement of some sort.
